Mentorship

Connect in a good way with the intention and purpose of helping and learning.

Doing things ‘in a good way’ is an expression that may have varying definitions for people. For some, it means being honest, sharing joy, having empathy, and modelling respect. It also involves taking the time to build the relationships that are necessary to work with and for Indigenous people in a respectful, reciprocal and responsible way.

Traditionally, mentorship often involves connecting with or seeking a Knowledge Sharer to ask about Indigenous teachings.  However, expertise is also shared between experienced and less experienced learners who are not necessarily considered Elders or Knowledge Keepers.

Use the ‘Connect’ section to find Members willing to explore building a mentorship relationship and/or offer your expertise to others.
